Lover, Where Art Thou ?

Hi there again,

So Mr. B went away for a couple of days and help me Lord, I missed my husband dearly. I basically sat down the whole day before he left thinking of how much I would miss him.

As I thought of how much I was going to miss him, even though he hadn't left, the Holy Spirit nudged me. I had basically mapped out how I would wait for his calls, and how lonely I would be without him for me to look at, trouble or simply enjoy his presence. (Yes I know, I am in love. Should that be news?)

Anyway, Mr. B went on his trip, and for each day I remember waiting patiently just to hear his voice. Not like we weren't chatting oh, but I wanted to experience a deeper level of intimacy associated with hearing my lovers voice after a few hours. *Sighs*

Anyway, enough of me giving you my emotional rundown. Let's get to the lesson.

By virtue of my husband travelling, I got a deeper insight into how God feels about us. If someone reading this doesn't know, God loves us being in His presence. Like He literally adores us being in His presence. Otherwise, why would the bible say "Seek the Lord"? God wants us to dwell in His presence.

When you look for me, you will find me. When you wholeheartedly seek me Jer 28:13

Like I mentioned, I simply missed my husband ahead of time thinking about his presence not being there. It's the same way God craves for us to be in His presence. He wants to fellowship with us. He wants to simply love us. Too many times, as Christians the only time we "try" to focus on being in God's presence is when we are in Church. *Right or Wrong? * For God that is too little time.

Although I spoke to my husband on phone regularly, but that was not satisfying for me. I wanted a little more depth. A call. Same with God. Yes, you skim through your bible in the morning, but he craves for more depth of intimacy. He wants to hear your voice speak to him, and your ears listen to him.

David is one perfect example of someone who understood the depth of intimacy God wanted. He understood God and grew to love being with God. Ah yes, Enoch. He loved God so much and understood how much God wanted to fellowship with him. By virtue of his understanding, he made God so in love having him in his presence, God simply had to take him all for himself. Like wow.

God is not looking for a Sunday Sunday kind of intimacy from us, He is looking for a "give me a call even when you are at work" kinda love relationship.

John 15:4-6 - Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

So dear someone, God wants to spend time with you as much as I wanted to spend time with my lover. Don't feel shy, just holler at him. Remember, God loves you in a mega way, he wants to be in communion with you always.

Do you think the Scriptures mean nothing? The Scriptures say, “The Spirit God made to live in us, wants us only for himself.” James 4:5 ERV

Don't feel shy to holler at God, even if you feel like you haven't been as near to him as you should have, He simply craves for your presence. So dear someone, once you are done reading this, don't hesitate to take a minute and speak to God. He, like me, is patiently waiting to hear from you.

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' Jer 33:3

Shalom

  1. Indeed, the times have come when those who worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth. He is so near us and years for intimacy. Thanks.
